First Camera with ANDROID OS !!
“Nikon CoolPix S800c”- Wherever search for camera it comes front. Whats in this ??. You know very well Android is a mobile operating system completely free, and that means that developers can do whatever they want with it.First Android Phone – HTC Dream, First Android Tablet – Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. And in turn, it also means that you can leave Android phones and tablets to run on devices such as cameras. There was a rumor round-up for upcoming camera going to have Android OS. Finally came true: Nikon already has its first compact camera with Android operating system. This is precisely what has made Nikon : trust your next compact camera Coolpix S800C Android system . And Nikon Coolpix S800C is proudly considered to be the ,“First Camera with Android “. But, this camera has no wireless connectivity beyond itself and still needs a phone that have 3G
What does this mean?
Well !! as says John Gruber on his blog, “makes the camera no longer a peripheral to work alone” .
So now we don’t need a data cable or a memory card to connect with our computer via PC suite and those things.Even there is no need for customizing in sync for uploading image files to any cloud services. By using Android Apps its gonna be just like our mobile phones and can directly share to Social Media .Send your snaps to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram (can you imagine taking a picture and you want the filter prepared ?). Thanks to the openness of Android the possibilities are endless
. The version that will carry the Coolpix S800C is 2.3 Gingerbread.
Specifications are as follows :
- OLED 3.5 inch with resolution WVGA .
- 25-250mm lens.
- Back lit sensor with 16 million colors.
- 10x zoom.
- recording video at 1080p.
- 4GB internal memory.
- 27 mm thick and weighing only 184 grams.
- GPS.
- WiFi and run all Google Play apps just like ordinary Android Phone.
The camera can connect to wireless networks and has its own GPS built , so that the photos may include its location by Geo-tagging (hopefully optional) and then can go to networks like Foursquare. Only mobile network connection failure to reach perfection, but that is solved with a little quietly tethering from phone.

I saw a video of this on the nvision app and it says they will have android 2.3, but the gmail picture in the video is for ICS Android only. The pictures in the video are obviously simulated so actual performance is still in question.
Still it is puzzle in some ways. But i m sure it is using android 2.3
